Eastern Asia is home to a great number of statisticians but academic activities in the region related to Bayesian analysis have been relatively scarce. The creation of the Eastern Asia chapter of ISBA will foster the research and education of the Bayesian analysis within the area.
The purpose of this Chapter is to promote research and education of Bayesian statistics in the Eastern Asia as well as the countries nearby via organizing academic activities including but not limited to conferences, workshops, and sessions of other meetings.

The Eastern Asia chapter of ISBA (EABA); hereafter referred as "Chapter" below.
The purpose of Chapter is to promote research and education in Bayesian statistics in Eastern Asia and nearby countries, by organizing academic activities including but not limited to conferences, workshops and sessions of other meetings.
The offices are those of Chair, Chair-elect, Program chair, Treasurer, and Secretary. The Chair-elect, Program chair, Treasurer, and Secretary are elected by the membership for staggered two year terms. The Chair-elect succeeds the office of Chair for a term of two years.
The officers constitute the Chapter Executive Committee, which shall follow the general policies established by the ISBA Board and shall cnoduct the affairs of Chapter.
The Chapter Chair convenes and chairs meetings of the Chapter Executive Committee and the Chapter membership. the duties of the Secretary, Treasurer and the Program Chair are as described in item 4.B through D of the ISBA constitution, but restricted to Chapter. The Secretary will also act as the webmaster for Chapter. The Program Chair additionally works, with the other members of the Chapter Executive Committee, to organize conferences, workshops, and short courses.
Each year a three-member Chapter Nominating Committee will nominate candidates for Chapter offices. Two members of the Committee will be elected by the Chapter Executive Committee based on suggestions from the Chapter membership. To facilitate this process, for every election year, the Chapter Chair will request suggestions from the Chaptermembers. The Chapter Executive Committee will elect two members from the suggested names and appoint one of the two members as Chair of the Chapter Nominating Committee. The remaining one position in the committee will be filled by the Chair-elect. The Chapter Nominating Committee selects and gets consent to stand for election from, at least two candidates for each office. The Chapter slate must be provided to the ISBA Executive Secretary by August 15th.
The term for all offices starts on January 1 following the election.
Any ISBA member who pays the Chapter membership fee is a member of Chapter. The Chapter membership fee is set by the Chapter Executive Committee.
The Chapter Bylaws may be amended by majority vote in two successive Chapter Executive Committee meetings, with at least a two-week interval between the meetings.
The Secretary submits yearly reports of Chapter activities to the ISBA Board.
Provisions in the ISBA Bylaws and Constitution will apply in connection with any issues that are not specifically addressed in the Chapter Bylaws. In case of conflict ISBA Bylaws and Constitution take precedence over the Chapter Bylaws. Chapter Bylaws take precedence over resolutions of the ISBA Board.
